@Jeff – Thanks for buying EasyAzon and I’m glad you like it. The purpose of that plugin was to make it so people didn’t have to edit their HTML. It sounds like the target customer may be different then you.

I’m also pleased that you like Amazon Reloaded so much. I hardly ever hear that – mostly I just get complaints :)

I bought the EasyAzon plugin and use it now on several sites, but if the above workaround works (thanks, Thomas!), I’ll keep Amazon Reloaded around on others I haven’t updated yet… EasyAzon works well and may be appealing to some / most, but I really like the simple functionality of Amazon Reloaded; the direct, editable links and the image choices – in that way, EasyAzon actually took away some very useful features, for me at least. That is, if EasyAzon is supposed to be an upgraded version of Amazon Reloaded.

I’m keeping the paid plugin because it’s updated and I can get images through Amazon’s API without having to write my own code, but it’s disappointing that some of the functionality of Amazon Reloaded was done away with.

@Thomas – Thanks for continuing to support the plugin as I don’t really have the time nor inclination. I really do recommend purchasing EasyAzon as it is full of other features that you’ll probably find useful and is actively supported so you don’t have to waste your time working around bugs.

This solves the issue for the moment. I think about changing the code and submit it to the svn. Maybe you can change these 2 lines and release a fixed version, Nick? I know, the plugin is not longer supported and I should buy a commercial version…

The message “Your credentials seem to be incorrect. Please check them and try again” returns the time and I can not enter the correct information.
I think my problem is the “Amazon Associates ID”.

@Bill – I recommend you purchase the EasyAzon plugin – http://eazyazon.com – as this open source plugin is no longer supported. I just finished dev on a HUGE update for EasyAzon that adds pagination, insertion of Call to Action buttons and more. I highly recommend it.

@Steve – The AWS keys ensure access. The only reason you’re getting an error message is because Amazon deprecated the API call that I was using to check the credentials. They still work everywhere else.

Add me to the list of people who are “very impressed with plugin but credentials not being verified”.

Are you, or anybody else, able to verify whether sales are still being credited correctly even with their credentials being reported as incorrect.

Hey Nick, just a little feedback on something I just noticed.

When using the search box under the wp post editor for amazon reloaded it returned ASINs for products that Amazon says don’t exist. Nothing dramatic, just different colors.

@Alex – The problem is only with the verification procedure. You can continue to use the plugin just fine until I fix it, but you’ll just have to deal with it telling you your credentials are wrong.

Hi Nick

I have used Amazon Reloaded on a number of blogs with no hitch at all. But I have started to get an error message from all the blogs when I click the check the credentials button – even on old blogs that work perfectly and earn money via amazon. I do have the current version of WP installed and wonder if that is the issue. All the data required is correct and has not changed.

Any ideas and are you planning on covering current versions of WP?

Hi,

I’m getting the invalid credentials issue as well. Clicks seem to be registering on the amazon associates site, but I’m still wondering if there’s a fix just in case it’s screwing something else up. My click rate has stayed about the same, but sales have disappeared completely. My concern is that if there’s something in the plugin that isn’t working quite right that it’s crediting the clicks, but is not placing the cookies properly and therefore not crediting any sales properly.

So what is up if the program keeps telling me my Amazon numbers are incorrect? I’m using the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key numbers.
Have cut and pasted, closed and reopened blog.

I’m having the same issue with my credentials said to be incorrect. But I’m wondering if the plugin isn’t actually working correctly. I see my tracking ID showing up in the Amazon links. I am having the same problem as Vicki, Bridget and Pete where I have tripled checked my secret access key and access key id and when I test them out, it comes back with invalid. It’s a bummer because I am excited to use this plug-in.

Any update on a fix to this problem?

When ever I test my Credentials is says, Your credentials seem to be incorrect. Please check them and try again.

I put them in ten time and they work in other plugins, Also if I was to post a page I can search for item on amazon, I am not sure if they show up on my site though.

If I can search and they show up can I ingnore this error?

@Victoria I’m sorry for your inconvenience. There seems to have been an update on Amazon’s end that caused the plugin to break. I won’t have a chance to really fix it for a while but I’ll work on it when I can.
