@Bill - I recommend you purchase the EasyAzon plugin - http://eazyazon.com - as this open source plugin is no longer supported. I just finished dev on a HUGE update for EasyAzon that adds pagination, insertion of Call to Action buttons and more. I highly recommend it.

Looks like I came in too late here as it keeps saying the api and secret keys do not match even though I have the aws tab open. Wish I knew about this earlier.

I have a question about the download. The selections made by Amazon are too short. I know that there are many more available books and prooducts. The question, how am I able to access to be able to place on my site and also is there anyway to gain spacing in between? Thanks...Jim

At this point my suggestion is to buy EasyAzon - an upgraded version of this plugin that adds a bunch more features and a more intuitive interface. Buy it at easyazon.com

@Steve - The AWS keys ensure access. The only reason you're getting an error message is because Amazon deprecated the API call that I was using to check the credentials. They still work everywhere else.

Ok, sorry, never mind my previous comment. It's a known issue.

So let me rephrase my question:

what do I need the AWS keys for if the plugin
seems to work with my associate id/tag/key?

thanks

I'm sorry but my credentials keep getting rejected.
I've checked over and over again but can't get

Nick,
Add me to the list of people who are "very impressed with plugin but credentials not being verified".

Are you, or anybody else, able to verify whether sales are still being credited correctly even with their credentials being reported as incorrect.

Nick
I have the same problem as Judith:

I’m having trouble installing this plug in on the latest WP.
I get an error message with the api and secret keys, even though I copied them directly from Amazon. What can I do?

I think yours is the simplest plugin for beginners like me....wish you could set it right soon......

Hey Nick, just a little feedback on something I just noticed.

When using the search box under the wp post editor for amazon reloaded it returned ASINs for products that Amazon says don't exist. Nothing dramatic, just different colors.

That's it.

@Alex - The problem is only with the verification procedure. You can continue to use the plugin just fine until I fix it, but you'll just have to deal with it telling you your credentials are wrong.

Hi Nick

I have used Amazon Reloaded on a number of blogs with no hitch at all. But I have started to get an error message from all the blogs when I click the check the credentials button - even on old blogs that work perfectly and earn money via amazon. I do have the current version of WP installed and wonder if that is the issue. All the data required is correct and has not changed.

Any ideas and are you planning on covering current versions of WP?

Thanks

But I have started to get an error message from all the blogs when I click the check the credentials button – even on old blogs that work perfectly and earn money via amazon. I do have the current version of WP installed and wonder if that is the issue. All the data required is correct and has not changed.

Any ideas and are you planning on covering current versions of WP?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm getting the invalid credentials issue as well. Clicks seem to be registering on the amazon associates site, but I'm still wondering if there's a fix just in case it's screwing something else up. My click rate has stayed about the same, but sales have disappeared completely. My concern is that if there's something in the plugin that isn't working quite right that it's crediting the clicks, but is not placing the cookies properly and therefore not crediting any sales properly.

Hi,
So what is up if the program keeps telling me my Amazon numbers are incorrect? I'm using the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key numbers.
Have cut and pasted, closed and reopened blog.

Ideas?
Thanks, John

@Gregg - Copy the line <code> add_meta_box('amazon-reloaded-for-wordpress', __('Amazon Reloaded'), array($this, 'displayMetaBox'), 'post');</code> and change the string 'post' to be whatever custom post type you want to enable.

I'm having the same issue with my credentials said to be incorrect. But I'm wondering if the plugin isn't actually working correctly. I see my tracking ID showing up in the Amazon links. I'm just getting started and not having any Amazon sales, but maybe someone can verify whether sales are still being credited correctly even with their credentials being reported as incorrect.

I am having the same problem as Vicki, Bridget and Pete where I have tripled checked my secret access key and access key id and when I test them out, it comes back with invalid. It's a bummer because I am excited to use this plug-in.

Any update on a fix to this problem?
Thanks!

When ever I test my Credentials is says, Your credentials seem to be incorrect. Please check them and try again.

I put them in ten time and they work in other plugins, Also if I was to post a page I can search for item on amazon, I am not sure if they show up on my site though.

If I can search and they show up can I ingnore this error?

@Victoria I'm sorry for your inconvenience. There seems to have been an update on Amazon's end that caused the plugin to break. I won't have a chance to really fix it for a while but I'll work on it when I can.

I have used your plug in on a couple of sites before creating this one, and it has worked great. Thanks so much for making the process so easy!

My issue is this time, it is not so easy. After installing and saving changes, once I check plug in it says, "Your credentials seem to be incorrect. Please check them and try again."

They are the same credentials I have always used. Any ideas on whats going on?

I am having the same problem I have tried to get this to work several times now. My asumtion is that wordpress updated to a new version. Which is why I actually prefer older versions of wordpress. I also always never update them once I create them. However in this case this is a brand new site using the newest version of wordpress. My guess is that it is with wordpress and not the api keys or the secrete keys. This is just my guess though.

@Vicki + @Bridget I'm not sure what the problem is. Amazon may have changed their API, but I won't have the time to check it out for about another week. If you can just hold on until then, I'll do my best.

I am having the same problem as Vicki. I went in today to set up Reloaded on a new site and it says my IDs are incorrect. I went back to double check on two previous sites on which I use Reloaded and it says the info for those is incorrect as well - although it registered fine when I initially set up those accounts. I even tried a brand new Access and Secret Key, but those were both rejected as well.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bridget

Thanks for coming back so quickly.

If you mean put the secret key in the access key ID and the access key ID in the secret key box I've tried that and still no joy....:-(

Any more ideas?

Thanks
